Canton Tower, formerly known as Guangzhou TV Astronomical and Sightseeing Tower and also known as Guangzhou Tower, is a 600-metre (1,969 ft) tall multi-purpose observation tower in the Haizhu District of Guangzhou (historically known as Canton or Kwangchow), Guangdong, China. The tower was topped out in 2009 and it became operational on 29 September 2010 for the 2010 Asian Games. The tower briefly held the title of tallest tower in the world, replacing the CN Tower, before being surpassed by the Tokyo Skytree. It was the tallest structure in China prior to the topping out of Shanghai Tower on 3 August 2013. It is now the third tallest tower and the fifth-tallest freestanding structure in the world.

The Canton Tower is situated alongside the Yiyuan Road (Yuejiang Road West), in the city of Guangzhou, which in turn, is the capital and the largest city of the provincial level division of Guangdong, which lies in the southernmost part of the People's Republic of China. Additionally, several famous landmarks surround the tower, such as few pagodas, a park towards the south, and several high-rise apartments, buildings, and skyscrapers, both commercial and residential.

Guangzhou Opera House is rated as one of the “10 best opera houses around the world” (USA Today) and “The world's most spectacular theatres” (The Telegraph). Located in the center of CBD in Guangzhou, which is one of China's national core cities, as a cultural city icon, GOH contribute to strengthening the cultural content for canton area and the reform for cultural system in China by presenting performing arts of much diversity.

Designed by Zaha Hadid, the first female winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, the Iraq British women, GOH whose unique exterior is full of imagination, is inspired by the idea of two rocks washed by the Pearl River. Her acoustic systems are designed by Sir. Harold Marshall, the world top acoustic designer who achieves the world first-class level acoustic system and delivers a perfect visual and sound effects for the opera house. So far, GOH has been highly appreciated by the architecture tycoons and artists from all over the world and has already won numerous awards for China.

Guangdong Museum,a comprehensive museum with collection of over 160,000 pieces (sets), was open to the public on October 1st, 1959. In 2003, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province decided to build a new building for Guangdong Museum in Zhujiang New Town, Guangzhou. On May 18th , 2010, the brand-new Guangdong Museum started to welcome visitors. The new building covers an area of 41,027㎡ with construction area of 66,980㎡ and display area of 21,000㎡. It looks like a delicate ancient openwork container of treasures. Permanent exhibitions in terms of Guangdong History and Culture, Guangdong Natural Resource and arts (such as the Duan inkstone, Chaozhou Woodcarving and Pottery and Porcelain) as well as temporary exhibitions are exhibited in it. Furthermore, perfect infrastructure and management systems will enable the Guangdong Museum to be a modernized large-scale comprehensive museum, top-ranking in the nation and advanced in the world.

The Guangzhou Library, established by the Guangzhou Municipal Government (GMG), was created for the benefit of the public’s welfare, and to serve as a cultural and educational institution. The Library’s services are based on collecting, organizing, and housing all categories of written knowledge and information including paper-based materials, audio-visual materials, and digital materials. The library offers lending materials, reference and information services, exhibitions and lectures, art appreciation, cultural exhibits, Internet services, public education services, research, and spaces for communication.
