Windoor Expo Visited Australia Again to Find Out the Key Trends in Construction Market

2017-05-18

Window Door Facade Expo China (Windoor Expo in short) organized a fact-finding mission again to DesignBUILD during May 3 to May 5, 2017. For over three decades, DesignBUILD has supported Australia’s architecture, building, construction and design communities, as the leading commercial platform for manufactures and suppliers to showcase new products and meet key industry buyers and specifiers.

According to the "2016 ITA Building Products and Sustainable Construction Top Markets Report" published by the USA's International Trade Administration, construction output in Australia is expected to increase at a rate of 4.7% annually through 2018. Much of the anticipated growth is attributable to government investments in infrastructure improvement and increases in the office building segment due to higher yields on asset prices and better leasing conditions. Low interest rates, a low unemployment rate, and increased investor and consumer confidence also are factors supporting growth.

For Windows and Doors sector, China dominated Australia's window and door import market, holding a 56% share in 2014. Top 5 Import Sources and Market Share

1. China (56%)

2. Malaysia (9.6%)

3. Indonesia(8.1%)

4. U.S.(5.1%)

5. New Zealand (4.3%)

For construction glass, China also dominated Australia import market in 2014. Top 5 Import Sources and Market Share:

1. China (55.1%)

2. Indonesia (13.4%)

3. Areas, N. E.S. (not elsewhere specified) (4.6%)

4.United Arab Emirates (4.1%)

5. Thailand (3.9%)

These can explain why more and more China manufacturers participate in DesignBUILD and took a 22% of exhibitors in the Sydney edition this May. Most China exhibitors, especially the ones from hardware and fittings field consider Australia is a promising market for them in the coming few years.

For the Australia exhibitors, 43% of them are exporting or planning to sell their new products and cutting-edge technology to China, one of the most vast and booming markets in the world. These Australia companies are also interesting in visiting Windoor Expo in 2018, to meet up with their existing business partners and look for new business opportunities in China.

The 24th Window Door Facade Expo China, taking place in Guangzhou from March 11 to March 13, 2018 will bring together more than 600 international and local exhibitors who would welcome an expected 60,000 visitors comprised of architects, builders, contractors, fabricators, manufacturers, real estate developers, traders and other industry players from all over the world.
